We all know we should be drinking more water but for most people it’s quite a struggle. I’m very lucky that I had a mom who drank litres of water and taught me from an early age to drink enough water during the day. I now love it and drink close to 3l a day (on a hot day). But most of my family till struggle with drinking lots of water and force down one little glass like I’m making them drink acid. Drama queens.

I started making these ‘flavoured’ waters around 5 years ago and have loved them ever since. I do it every day for myself (simply flavoured with mint and lemon) and for events, I go all out and add fruit, herbs and other flavourings to achieve seriously delicious water. I even made a few jugs for the twins’ Circus birthday party last year. I had to fill the jugs 3 times throughout the party and even the twins mainly drank the water instead of the juice I had put out for the kids.

The great thing about “Spa Water” is that you can flavour it with whatever your heart desires. I have made three versions here but other ingredients you can include are: blueberries, ginger, rosemary, thyme, sliced green apple, orange slices, sliced melon/watermelon, pomegranate rubies, fresh cherries, sliced nectarines/plums, etc. I try to stay away from ‘creamy’ fruits like mango and banana as, first of all, the banana will discolour and they can also make the water murky which is not exactly appetising. But you should really add the ingredients that will make you reach for water more often. Add lots of ice and enjoy in abundance!
