You know you married well when your husband not only listens to your hints about what he should buy you for your birthday but then goes online to find this very hard-to-find product and has it shipped just in time for your birthday. You know he’s extra amazing when he can’t wait and gives it to you an entire week before your birthday. *insert ecstatic, jumping around emoticon here*

This is what happened this week when my darling C gave me this GORGEOUS Lorac Pro Palette for my birthday. I have been dying to get my hands on this since I saw Estee from Essiebutton talk about it. I also knew that I would probably never get the chance to try it out because it is notoriously hard to find. So you’ll understand my excitement when I Googled it a while ago and saw that Amazon would be receiving stock of it soon. EEK! That is when I started working on C. And now I have it. Dreams DO come true.

So let’s get to the review part. This palette is absolutely, 100% worth all the hype. The packaging is sleek and minimalistic which is right up my alley. Once opened, you are met with a nice big mirror which is always a plus and 16 drop dead gorgeous eyeshadows. As is always the case, the mattes were the ones I was most excited about because I just find them so much easier to work with and I always reach for matte shades when I do my everyday make-up. But you guys, the shimmery, frosted shades in this palette are TO DIE FOR. As you can see, I couldn’t resist sticking my fingers in there and swatched them straight away because they are just so pretty. I can  not wait to play around with them. You can expect quite a few reviews using this palette. (Click here to view my Pretty in Pink make-up tutorial using this palette.)

I think that’s what I love about this palette the most. It is so versatile. You can do everything from a “no make-up make-up” look to a pretty neutral eye, a standard smokey eye and an over-the-top glammed out shimmery look for a night out. All in one palette. They are also a dream to apply. Buttery and smooth and SO easy to blend.

The colour pay-off is huge as these are so pigmented (as you can see in the photos above of the swatched of my favourite shades). There was a slight bit of fallout from the shimmery shades but I think that was more my own fault as I was a bit over eager and put too much product on my brush. All the shimmery shades are really gorgeous but I found the two lightest colours “Nude” and “Champagne” to contain a little bigger, more glitter-like particles which I’m not a huge fan of but I managed to work with them by blending the living day lights out of them once applied with a big fluffy brush. I didn’t experience the same with the other shimmery colours. Oh, and a little bonus: the palette comes with a mini eyeshadow primer which is just such a treat. It’s really good too.

All-in-all though, this palette is worth every cent and really one that you can consider investing in. Buy it HERE.

Looks like an awesome palette! Will you do a review on primers 🙂 I don’t know if they are worth the cost??? My daily make-up routine consists of base, mascara and blush but by midday it looks like I haven’t put any make-up on and my face looks “dood”.

I definitely will. Must just expand my collection a bit. 😉

Hi Alida. Would you recommend this palette over the urban decay naked palettes?

Safeera, I only used the Naked 1 (haven’t been able to get my hands on the others yet) and although they are beyond fabulous and a must-have in any make-up collection, I think that the Lorac Pro is slightly better value for money. Firstly, I think that the Lorac Pro is way better regarding Matte shades. I am a Matte girl so this is fantastic for me. The Naked palettes have one or two mattes and more shimmers. The Naked palettes are around $52 and the Lorac Pro is $42 so there’s that. But all-in-all, I think both are fabulous. It just depends on your budget and if you like more mattes or more shimmers. I think the Lorac offers more, texture wise.
