So, of course I couldn’t post a Morning skincare routine without following it up with an Evening skincare routine. I noticed something while photographing these products: I use a whole heck of a lot of The Body Shop and Clarins products on my skin. I mean, they really are fabulous products but I’m afraid it might be a little boring for you guys. However, I vow to try to spice it up a little once all of these products run out. But enough of that, let’s get straight into it.

Evening cleansers and toner

Cleansers, Toner and Serum

After a full day of wearing make-up, I like to use The Body Shop’s Camomile cleansing oil to remove my make-up as well as the Camomile eye make-up remover for stubborn mascara and eye liner. Both these products are really gentle on my skin but do a really good job of getting rid of every last little but of make-up. I follow that up with the tea tree cleanser from The Body Shop but I spoke about that in my morning skincare routine post so hop on over if you want to red more about it. I then sweep a cotton pad soaked in some of their Seaweed Clarifying Toner over my cleansed skin and this stuff is all kinds of awesome. It leaves my skin feeling super clean and tingly, which I love. I then follow this with the Clarins serum I wrote about in my morning skincare post.

Face oils

Face oils

I’ve written about all of these oils before so I won’t go into too much detail here but since I started using them, I can’t imagine my skincare routine without them in it. I use the Clarins Blue Orchid treatment oil once or twice a week and especially when my skin is super dehydrated. It also smells absolutely Heavenly and my skin feels properly pampered when I’ve used it. The BalmBalm one is used once a week when I do a proper face massage and it leaves my skin feeling plumped and hydrated to the max. The Body Shop’s vitamin E serum-in-oil is my everyday oil which I use pretty much every single night. It’s super lightweight and it gets absorbed really quickly. I think this is my favourite to use during Summer because it’s not too heavy for everyday use but still leaves my skin feeling moisturised and treated.

Clarins multi active night cream

Moisturiser

I’ve been using the same moisturiser for months now and I don’t know how I’m ever going to use another one. Clarins’ Multi-Active night cream is just bliss in a glass container. The cream is rich and luscious but feels really light when applied to the skin and again, the scent! Clarins are just masters of making products smell wonderful. I just love how this leaves my skin feeling and really, I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Mask and exfoliators

Treatments, masks & exfoliators and self-tanner

When my skin is feeling particularly moody, I love using The Body Shop’s Seaweed Clarifying night treatment. It’s a clear gel which I apply before I apply my serum, oil and moisturiser. My skin is notably clearer the morning after using it and I also find using it regularly makes my spots less aggressive and they don’t stick around for as long.
The mask I’m currently loving (and using weekly), is The Body Shop’s Warming Mineral Mask. It’s a very thick cream which warms when massaged onto skin. Unlike other clay masks, this one doesn’t dry which I quite like. I leave it on for 10 minutes and then simply rinse it off. My skin always feels squeaky clean after using it.

The Body Shop Seaweed exfoliator
I’m using two exfoliators at the moment. The first is Clarins’ Gentle Peeling smooth away cream which I have in a mini size I received when I bought some other Clarins goodies a while ago. I quite like this one but really only because I love peeling off the product once it’s dried. It does leave my skin feeling soft and smooth but not half as much as The Body Shop’s Seaweed pore cleansing exfoliator does. I love that the exfoliating beads in this product are smooth and small enough so you don’t feel like  you’re scratching your skin with it. My skin always feels so fresh and clean and super soft after using it. Almost like it’s been polished.

Clarins liquid bronzer
Then lastly, on nights that I don’t use a facial oil, I use Clarins’ Liquid Bronze self tanner. I love this product because it couldn’t be easier to use and the end result is a really subtle hint of colour. I simply apply some of the product on two cotton pads then lightly sweep it over my face and down my neck and decollete after applying my moisturiser. It soaks in within minutes and I wake up with a healthy, golden glow. Winning!

Tea tree oil

Honourable mention needs to go to tea tree oil (any brand will do but I really love The Body Shop’s as it’s suitable for applying directly to the skin without using a carrier oil). My mom started using tea tree oil when I was around 10 (18 years ago!) to treat bug bites, minor cuts and grazes and wounds in general. We used it on everything and our house constantly smelled of the stuff. My mom also told me to use it on my spots and I quickly realised that this stuff was magic. I still use it to this day. After applying my moisturiser at night, I soak a cotton bud in tea tree oil and dab any and all spots with it. It doesn’t get rid of them immediately but they definitely dry out quicker and leave no scars behind once they bid me adieu. I’m never without a bottle of this trusty product.
